Donors and Partners

Caritas Czech Republic has a long-term cooperation with a number of important donors. Because of this, we can implement development programs in Moldova. Which organizations are involved and how do they participate in our projects? 

Czech Development Agency

One of our main donors is the Czech Development Agency (CzechAid) with which we have been cooperating for many years. Currently we are implementing 3 projects which are funded by CzechAid with 95% of the total budget.

The Ensuring the quality and accessibility of medical-social homecare services in the Republic of Moldova project focuses on supporting the efforts of local NGOs, by developing their capacity, to initiate institutional, procedural and legislative changes in the public administration sectors in line with the needs of elderly people and local stakeholders.

Another project is Improvement of medico-social care services for people with long-term care needs on both sides of the Dniester river which works on increasing confidence between Dniester riversides, through transfer of experience and knowledge sharing in the long-term care area.

And in the Technologies for the future - telemedicine in the homecare sector of Moldova we are bringing IT solutions to the homecare field and are aiming to increase the population's access to quality social and medical services by providing remote online medical and care consultations.

European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations

Our biggest donor is the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Department (DG ECHO) with which we are cooperating in the field of humanitarian aid. Currently we are implementing 1 project which is funded by DG ECHO with 80% of the total budget.

DG ECHO supports the project Emergency aid for vulnerable refugees from Ukraine in Moldova. The project aims to ensure access to quality healthcare, safe and dignified shelter and coverage of basic needs of vulnerable refugees from Ukraine in Moldova. The intervention focuses on providing assistance to refugees at existing refugee reception centres and in host communities across Moldova.

Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation

Another donor with whom be began working just recently in Moldova is the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (SlovakAid). Currently we are implementing 1 project funded by SlovakAid with 90% of the total budget.

SlovakAid supports the project Building a functional and sustainable waste management system in Criuleni implemented together with Caritas Slovakia. The main objectives of this project are to improve and optimize the local waste management, infrastructure and governance, increase the capacities of stakeholders involved in the waste management system and inform and involve the local community in the sustainable use of resources and environmental protection.
