Technologies for the future - telemedicine in home care in Moldova

Project name: "Technologies for the future - telemedicine in home care in Moldova"

Duration: October 2021 - September 2024

Purpose:  To increase the population's access to care and health services by offering remote consultations and increasing the level of training and performance of staff involved in the act of care. 

 
Direct beneficiaries:

  • Older people
  • Children with disabilities
  • Patients in need of palliative care
  • Victims of violence

Indirect beneficiaries:

- Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection
- Member organisations of the Union of Community Service Providers
- National Health Insurance Company
- 8 medico-social centres in the country and the staff working in these centres
- 8 LPAs in the localities participating in the project 


Proposed objectives:

  • Increase access to health care and health services for citizens of the Republic of Moldova through the use of the telemedicine platform www.e-homecare.md 
  • To equip 8 medical-social centres in the country with the necessary technology to provide telemedicine services 
  • Training a group of 50 volunteers and staff from the 8 beneficiary centres on the use of telemedicine equipment and how to carry out remote consultation and monitoring
  • Training of direct beneficiaries (elderly people, children with disabilities, patients in need of palliative care and victims of violence) on how to access telemedicine services and educating them on various self-care techniques
  • Providing 3,870 consultations via the www.e-homecare.md platform in the following areas: endocrinology, cardiology, gastrology, general medicine, etc. as well as psychological counselling services.
  • Collaboration with state institutions and providing the necessary support to initiate the procedure for regulating telemedicine and establishing a methodology for calculating the social tariff for such services.

    • "Sfânta Iuliana" medical-social centre in Dondușeni
    • "Saint Theodora" medical-social centre in Falesti
    • "Maria Magdalena" Medical and Social Centre in Stefan Voda
    • Medical and Social Centre "Hipocrates" in Dubasari
    • "St. Agatha Agatha" Medical and Social Centre in Vulcanesti
    • "Saint Ana" Medical and Social Centre in Ocnita
