Two schools in Moldova will have better sanitation and hygiene facilities thanks to Caritas Czech Republic

Poor sanitation, water scarcity, low water quality, and inadequate hygiene practices can have severe consequences for young children. These issues also negatively affect the health of school-aged children, who spend long hours in school. With financial support from the European Union, Caritas Czech Republic has launched a new initiative in Moldovan schools to improve water and sanitation facilities for students and school staff, while also raising awareness about proper hygiene practices.

Bullying remains a major issue in Moldovan schools and has widespread impact on students - whether as victims, aggressors, or witnesses. Caritas Czech Republic's new initiative in Moldova aims to help reduce bullying in schools across 8 regions of the country. Together with athletes from Moldova's National Sports Federation of Muay Thai Boxing, we have launched a series of information sessions and sports activities in 16 schools. Three athlete-coaches shared their experience working with children affected by bullying, offering valuable insights.

Mihaela and Laurențiu are two young volunteers who have joined the telemedicine initiative run by Caritas Czech Republic in Moldova. Through the volunteer experience, they have not only developed vital skills for the future but also learned the true meaning of empathy, as they gained a deeper understanding of the specific needs of people in vulnerable position.
