In Moldova, we focus on the development of health care, social protection, social inclusion, rural development and environmental protection, as well as humanitarian aid to refugees from Ukraine.

How Caritas Czech Republic encourages the involvement of Moldovan youth in the community: Interview with two young activists

Loredana and Nicoleta, two young activists from Moldova, met along a shared journey that led them towards active community involvement. Through its new initiative, Caritas Czech Republic has inspired 80 young people to engage in community, guiding them to build bridges between generations. 20-year-old Loredana and 17-year-old Nicoleta shared with us their intergenerational experiences and common aspirations for a better future.

We are away from bombings, but also away from home, says Valentina, a refugee from Ukraine in Moldova

The war in Ukraine has turned the lives of thousands of families upside down. Thirty-year-old Valentina Vozneak was in her last trimester of pregnancy when the war broke out. After enduring days and nights of bombing, Valentina decided it was time to leave with her children and mother to find a safer place. They chose Moldova as their refuge, and Caritas Czech Republic supported them with hygiene products and food vouchers to meet their basic needs.

To help people with various needs and conditions to develop their skills and improve their quality of life, Caritas Czech Republic, together with Homecare Association, will develop occupational therapy services in 5 medical-social centres in Moldova.
