Best of 2022 in Caritas Czech Republic in Moldova

After pandemic years, 2022 came with new challenges for Moldova and for the local Caritas Czech Republic team. At the beginning of the year, the outbreak of the war in Ukraine prompted us to quickly join the humanitarian efforts and help Ukrainian refugees. At the same time, we continued with our activities focused on home-based care, integration of technology in social and medical services and efficient waste management. Supported housing - a home that will enable people with mental disorders from Moldova to lead an independent life

Caritas Czech Republic is supporting the process of deinstitutionalisation and development of quality services for people with mental health problems. As a starting point, Caritas Czech Republic will set up 2 houses as part of "Supported Housing" service in order to increase the degree of independence and community integration of people with mental disorders. The residents of these houses will have the chance to reintegrate into the community and live a better life from that in boarding schools or residential institutions.
